Arts & Entertainment in a COVID World
May 29, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Open to Everyone – COVID-19 has had a profound impact on the arts and entertainment world forcing events across the globe to be cancelled or postponed indefinitely. In March 2020, the International Olympic Committee made the difficult decision to postpone the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games to 2021, leaving a huge gap in summer programming and news coverage. At the same time, museums around the world were closed to the public, with exhibits left to hang in dark galleries out of the public’s view. Locally, bars and restaurants closed with uncertainty as to when they may fully reopen to patrons and to the musicians who entertain there. In response, we have been witness to creative, alternative programming and events through digital channels, some of which may prove to be lasting changes.
