War and Peace for Procrastinators, SparkNotes Discussion

May 29, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Cue the IRONY and FUN — we really want to recreate the true college experience of not actually having read the book for ‘86ers, so we will be hosting a Class of 1986 “Drinks and Discussion for Procrastinators” Zoom cocktail hour based on reading only the Wikipedia entry or Spark Notes for “War and Peace” (hint: author is Tolstoy! That’s all you really need to know – although fine if you have actually read it – helpful links below) …the comedic David Powelstock, Associate Professor of Russian Language and Literature at Brandeis will help lead this “Spark Notes” book club gathering – so chill  out while you chill some vodka and come armed with your best and most humorous and pretentious ideas—  we encourage you not to prepare, or to even go rogue and propose “Lost” chapters that Tolstoy may have enjoyed … this will be a fun-filled, rollicking hour of  irony, laughs, drinks and connecting…

Sponsored by the Class of 1986

Please RSVP to hicksdepeyster@gmail.com  to receive a Zoom Link.
