JC de Swaan is a lecturer in Princeton’s economics department, where he is affiliated with the Bendheim Center for Finance. He teaches courses on ethics in finance and on Asian capital markets. De Swaan is also a partner at Cornwall Capital, an investment fund based in New York. He received his B.A. from Yale University, an M.Phil. in international relations from the University of Cambridge and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School. He is the author of “Seeking Virtue in Finance: Contributing to Society in a Conflicted Industry,” published by Cambridge University Press.
Peter Hooper ’69
Vice Chair of Research, Deutsche Bank
Peter Hooper is vice chair of research at Deutsche Bank. He joined the bank in 1999 as chief U.S. economist and later became global head of economic research. Previously Hooper served for 26 years in economic research at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C., where he held numerous positions. Hooper’s research has focused on inflation, Fed watching, and macroeconomic modeling and forecasting. His numerous publications have included “Inflation, the Defining Macro Story of this Decade” (Deutsche Bank, 2021) and “Evaluating Policy Regimes” (Brookings, 1993). Hooper comments on U.S. and global economic and financial developments in the news media. He currently serves on the Economic Advisory Committee of the American Bankers Association, the executive committee of the Forecasters Club of New York and the Economic Leadership Council of the University of Michigan, where he earned his Ph.D. in economics.
Peter Ammon ’99
Chief Investment Officer, University of Pennsylvania
Peter Ammon serves as chief investment officer for the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Penn in 2013, he worked at the Yale University Investments Office. In New Haven, Ammon was also a senior faculty fellow at the Yale School of Management, where he co-taught a class on endowment management. Prior to his time at Yale, Ammon worked at the Princeton University Investment Company. He serves on several investment committees, including chair of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative’s investment advisory committee. A politics major at Princeton, he also holds an M.A. in international relations and an MBA from Yale.
Kate Lewis ’09

In her current role at Balyasny Asset Management, a multi-manager hedge fund with $20 billion assets under management, Kate Lewis builds Balyasny’s data platform and delivers data science-driven insights to portfolio managers. She was previously at Two Sigma Investments, where she designed and commercialized new products and businesses in the public and private markets. Prior to Two Sigma, Lewis was a consultant at McKinsey & Company and started her career at Goldman Sachs. Lewis holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an undergraduate degree from Princeton’s School of Public and International Affairs.

Flora Chao oversees International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) global funding and investor relations operations based in Washington, D.C. Her team covers both public and private debt capital markets, including green and social bond issuances. Previously, she oversaw funding operations in the Asia and Oceania regions, including Australia, New Zealand, China, India and Japan. Prior to funding, Chao was in the treasury client solutions department at IFC, specializing in structured finance transactions in Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. She began her career at Goldman Sachs in its asset-backed securitization group and then moved to Morgan Stanley to help start its public sector student loan securitization group. Chao holds a Master in Finance from Princeton and a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in applied mathematics from Harvard.
