This panel will explore the future of journalism in the digital age and during a period of rapid change in how news is gathered, funded and disseminated. Issues to be discussed revolve around the fine line between reporting the news and creating the news, how to identify and respond to misinformation, how will citizens know what’s happening in their towns with the death of local newspapers and the threats and promises of AI-generated news reporting. Our panelists, all experienced journalists at local and regional outlets, will look into their crystal balls and opine on the future of journalism in an age when newspapers are dying.
