May 23, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
East Pyne Hall, Room 010
Sash Bischoff ’09 (author of “Sweet Fury”), Laura Hankin ’10 (author of “One-Star Romance,” “The Daydreams” and more), Blair Hurley ’09 (author of “Minor Prophets” and “The Devoted”), Daria Lavelle ’09 (author of “Aftertaste”), and Lovell Holder ’09 (author of “The Book of Luke”) have been writing together in a workshop they affectionately call PWG — the Princeton Writer’s Group — since 2009. In the span of 15-plus years, they’ve worked together to hone their craft, prepare materials for submission to agents and publishers, celebrate big wins (as of 2025, all five will have released novels with major publishers!) and share their writing lives. In this panel, Sash, Laura, Blair and Daria will be joined by Princeton Creative Writing faculty member Sheila Kohler, author of eleven novels, most recently “Open Secrets,” to share their experiences publishing their books post-Princeton, advice on making community and working together across genres (and countries! and life changes!), and how to create the kind of trust and friendship that supports the words on the page.
